The fourth of Awali Golf Club's season's non-handicapper competitions was held on Saturday 7th February and a group of nine young pretenders ventured forth to demonstrate their improving prowess in a flurry of activity that some might claim approximated to golf. Getting ever closer to the elusive handicap competency, Jac Parker achieved her first non-handicappers competition win of the season, returning a score of 17 Stableford points.
Clive Turpin continues to battle away ferverently and his efforts with lessons, practice, lessons, practice saw a reward of second placing with 15 points. Newly joined member Berna Dinkhuijsen shared third place honours with Biman Mazumdar, both with 14 points.

The competition is somewhat strange in that it is one where the absence of a player is most pleasing, provided it is for the right reason. The absence of a previous regular, John Fennell, was indeed for the right reason as he has recently managed to reach the handicap threshold and is now jumping in the deep end as a player in the Club's regular Friday competitions.
